Italian football star Alessandro Del Piero - born on 9 november 1974 - started his professional career in 1991 with padova of italian serie B. Two years later he transferred to juventus where he has remained ever since.
Del Piero has won the serie A championship on no less than six occasions - 1995, 1997, 1998, 2002, 2003 and 2005. This charismatic soccer player has also won the champions league and the Toyota cup, and his best season was in 1997 - 1998 when he scored 21 goals in serie A, and was top scorer in the champions league with ten goals. Del Piero also played in the 1998 world cup, although a previous injury prevented him from delivering his usual electrifying performance. Del Piero made a comeback to the inernational soccer scene in the 2002 world cup, scoring a goal against mexico with seconds of coming on as a substitute on january 10th 2006 Del Piero became the all-time leading scorer for juventus when he scored three times in a coppa italia match, taking his total goals for the club to 1999.
